Damaged railroad shuts down major Flint intersection

FLINT, Mich. — A damaged railroad has caused a road closure at 12th Street and Van Slyke Road, according to a Dec. 8, 2025, press release from the City of Flint.

Officials said the owner of the railroad, Canadian National, has ordered replacement parts but repairs will not be completed until early next week

Drivers are being asked to find alternate routes in the area and are asked to follow all posted detours while repairs are underway.
