Artists invited to submit work for Buckham Gallery’s ‘Homeward’ exhibition

FLINT, Mich. — Artists across the United States are invited to explore the meaning of home through a new national juried exhibition at Buckham Gallery.

Titled “Homeward,” the exhibition will run July 10 through Aug. 14 at the gallery, located at 121 W. Second St. Submissions are open through May 2, 2026.

The exhibition focuses on interpretations of “home,” encouraging artists to reflect on themes ranging from comfort and belonging to displacement and memory. Organizers say the concept is intentionally broad, welcoming creative perspectives that examine domestic spaces as places of shelter, confinement or personal meaning.

Artists ages 18 and older who are U.S. residents may submit up to three original works for a $25 entry fee. Accepted media includes two-dimensional, three-dimensional and video works. Reproductions and AI-generated pieces are not eligible.

In an effort to support participating artists, Buckham Gallery will provide a $50 shipping stipend to all selected artists. The stipend is intended to help offset the cost of transporting artwork, though artists remain responsible for coordinating shipping or in-person drop-off and pickup.

Selected works must be delivered between June 12 and June 19, and artists will be notified of their acceptance by May 16.

Artwork in the exhibition may be listed for sale, though it is not required. Artists set their own prices, with the gallery retaining a 35% commission on any sales.
