Scott Atkinson has been reporting on Flint for more than fifteen years. He spent several years as a reporter for The Flint Journal and is the editor of "Happy Anyway: A Flint Anthology," a collection of essays about life in Flint. His journalism and essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, Writer's Digest, and several other publications. He teaches journalism at Michigan State University, and is the adviser of The Michigan Times, the University of Michigan-Flint's student newspaper.
