Carriage Town to host its 5th annual Porchfest celebration

Flint, MI – Carriage Town is hosting its 5th annual Porchfest on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The event is located near First Avenue and Mason Street and will feature a line-up of local musicians, food vendors, art, and family-friendly crafts and activities.

Performances will be spread across Carriage Town’s porch fronts, with finale acts by Cult Therapy, Mama Sol, and Jeff Skigh happening on the main stage toward the end of the night.

William “Dollar Bill” Morris, a cannabis cultivator with LightSky Farms, dances to the music of Leroy, an improvisational rock band, during Carriage Town Porch Fest in Flint, Mich. on Friday, July 15, 2022.

Free parking is available at Dort Durant Carriage Company at 316 W Water St.

Porchfest started as a tradition in Ithaca, N.Y. in 2007 as a way to bring local artists and neighbors together to celebrate community, with musicians performing from their front porches (hence the name). Since then, the tradition has traveled across the United States and Canada.

This year’s event is sponsored by the Greater Flint Arts Council, Communities First Inc, and Kettering University, and was organized by The Carriage Town Historic Neighborhood Association.
