City of Flint issues statement regarding officer-involved shooting


FLINT, Mich. — A 25-year-old man was shot by police during an attempted arrest early Wednesday morning at the Rolling Woods Manor complex on the 2400 block of W. Pierson Road. The incident occurred around 10 a.m.

According to a Feb. 26 statement, the man allegedly drove toward officers while trying to flee. “In response to the imminent threat, shots were fired by officers,” the statement reads.

The man was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Michigan State Police are investigating the incident as part of standard protocol. Additional details will be released as they become available.
