FLINT, MI  – Flint officials are advising residents living near Avon and East 8th Street to boil their water after a water main break in the area.

“Officials are taking necessary steps to have (the) break repaired,” said a Dec. 24, 2017 press release issued by Flint Spokeswoman Kristin Moore. “However due to the circumstances, Flint’s Director of Public Works, Rob Bincsik, has issued a Precautionary Boil Filter Water Advisory to protect the health and safety of the City’s water customers/residents.”

The area is near Avon and East 8th Street bordered on the south by I-69, the north by Court Street, west by Lapeer Road and east by Gilkey Creek.

So far, there is no information as to when the boil advisory will be lifted. Officials say residents will be notified when the affected area is no longer under the advisory.
