Davison High students to showcase wildlife inspired art at Flint ArtWalk

FLINT, Mich. — Davison High School students will showcase artwork inspired by Michigan wildlife during a special exhibit in downtown Flint as part of the city’s monthly ArtWalk.

The “Michigan Wild” art show will feature sculptures, paintings and drawings depicting the state’s native plants and animals. Students created the pieces to highlight Michigan’s wildlife and raise awareness about environmental conservation.

“Our event helps to draw awareness to the environment and animals in Michigan, while building community,” commented Davison High School art student Jameson Murphy.

Several local environmental and conservation groups are expected to attend, including the Sierra Club, Genesee County Parks, Trout Unlimited, Little Forks Conservancy, the Flint River Watershed Coalition, Keep Genesee County Beautiful and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

The exhibit is scheduled for April 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Dryden Building, 601 S. Saginaw St. The event is free and open to the public. Street parking is free after 5 p.m., with additional parking available at nearby garages and lots, including the Rutherford Street garage, the downtown flat lot, the Flint Farmers’ Market lot and University of Michigan-Flint parking structures.
