Dr. Bobby Mukkamala to keynote Flint & Genesee Group annual meeting

FLINT, Mich. — The Flint & Genesee Group will host its annual meeting at the FIM Capitol Theatre in downtown Flint, where Bobby Mukkamala is set to deliver the keynote address.

The meeting, scheduled for March 25, is themed “Partnering with Purpose,” and focuses on collaboration to navigate new opportunities and changes in the region.

Mukkamala is a board-certified otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeon and president of the American Medical Association (AMA). He returned to Flint in 2000 after completing his medical training at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.

In addition to his role as president of the AMA, Mukkamala has held several leadership roles at the state and local levels, including serving on the Michigan State Medical Society Board of Directors since 2011, where he has been board chair and president. He is a past president of the Genesee County Medical Society and continues to serve on its board. He is also a trustee of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and a board member of the Foundation for Flint, which works to expand access to early childhood education.

Before the keynote, the Flint & Genesee Group will review its accomplishments from the past year as part of its broader goal to position Genesee County among Michigan’s top five communities by 2040 in jobs, talent, livability and equity. Leaders will highlight achievements across the organization’s four divisions: the Flint & Genesee Chamber, Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance, Flint & Genesee Education & Talent and Explore Flint & Genesee.

The meeting is open to the public from 3 to 4:30 p.m., with doors opening at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 and available at flintandgenesee.org.
