Early voting available for Flint residents before August 6 election
Flint, MI — Early voting will be available for the 2024 primary and 7th Ward general election between Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024.
Both elections will take place on Aug. 6.
Residents can vote in person at Flint City Hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day or via absentee ballot for those who want to avoid the election-day crowds.
The application request for an absentee ballot must be submitted by emailing a copy of the request form to the city clerk, mailing it, or dropping it off at the clerk’s drop box outside city hall.
Residents living within the “old” boundaries of the 1st Ward before the shift can vote for which two candidates they’d like to see run for the city council seat during the general election on Nov. 5.
These boundaries are the North End (Carpenter St.), South End (Pierson Rd., Baltimore Blvd., Eldridge Ave.), East End (Saginaw St.), and West End (Clio Rd.).
Liberty C. Bell, Carol McIntosh, Rosemary Morrow, John Billings, incumbent Leon El-Alamin, Cynthia Haynes, and Aston Mairon are among the candidates on the ballot.
Residents in the 7th Ward will choose between Jan Marie Arbor and incumbent Candice Mushatt for the 7th Ward city council seat. The selected candidate will serve until their term ends on Nov. 18, 2026.
Genesee County’s website outlines the boundaries for the former 1st and 7th Wards.
