Flint City Council to consider alley closure for liquor store expansion
FLINT, Mich. — Flint City Council will hold a public hearing to consider a request to close an alley between Leith Street and McClellan Street to make room for a liquor store expansion.
The owners of the property at 3009 N. Saginaw St. are asking the city to vacate the alley so they can move forward with a redevelopment project. Plans include additional gas pumps, a canopy and improving the parking lot for an existing liquor store. The hearing is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. April 13, 2026.
The Planning Commission recommended approval of the request March 11, 2025 and confirmed its findings in a final report April 22, 2025.
According to city documents, there are no public utilities in the area proposed to be vacated, so no easement is required.
People with disabilities who need accommodations can email a request to councilpubliccomment@cityofflint.com with the subject line “Request for Accommodation” or contact the City Clerk at 810-766-7418.
