Flint Drop Fest will feature over 100 performances for 12th year of celebration
Flint, MI — Flint Drop Fest will return for its 12th annual electronic music and art festival on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
The free event will take place in Downtown Flint between noon and 10 p.m. Free curbside parking will be available, and two $5 parking ramps will be located off of East and West Kearsley.
Drop Fest will feature over 100 local, regional, and national talent across 12 performance stages alongside a huge selection of vendors, pop-ups, workshops, and food for the public.
Founder Jerin Sage created the event in 2012 to introduce the techno scene he enjoyed from places like the Detroit Movement Music Festival to his home.
He said the electronic music scene is scarce in a city like Flint.

“I recognized the huge positive impact the event had on not only those in attendance but the entire city,” Sage said.
After creating a founding committee amongst friends and with the financial support of the Greater Flint Arts Council, 750 guests celebrated on the rooftop of the Rutherford Building at the first Drop Fest in 2012.
“Flint Drop Fest was created with the goal of preserving and sharing the art, culture, and community surrounding electronic music while providing a meaningful platform for musicians, artists, vendors, and businesses in Downtown Flint,” Sage said.
He encourages everyone to visit the small businesses, restaurants, bars, and Farmer’s Market located in Flint’s downtown area while in attendance.
The event is produced by volunteers who rely on local support, contributions, and donations to continue their mission.
