FLINT, MI — Mayor Karen Weaver is set to discuss her recommendation for the city’s water sources during Tuesday, April 18, 2017 press conference.
“After much consideration, evaluation and re-evaluation Mayor Weaver is prepared to announce her recommendation for the City of Flint’s long-term primary and back-up water sources,” said an April 14, 2017 announcement from city spokeswoman Kristin Moore. “Tuesday morning she will announce her recommendation and why she believes it is the best option for the City and the citizens of Flint.”
The press conference is planned for 10 a.m. at Flint City Hall’s Council Chambers on the third floor.
Weaver along with Bob Kaplan of EPA, Keith Creagh of MDEQ, Richard Baird of State of Michigan and other city, county and state officials are expected to be at the Tuesday morning press conference.
City, county and state officials will also hold a town hall meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at House of Prayer MB Church to explain their choices to the community and get feedback before a final decision is made.
