Flint youth invited to apply for free summer skilled trades program

FLINT, Mich. — A free summer program aimed at introducing local youth to hands-on career skills is returning to Flint for its ninth year.
ABC Youth will host its annual STEM Skilled Trades Program from July 6 through July 31, offering participants ages 7 to 17 an opportunity to learn practical skills across several industries.
The program runs Monday through Friday from 5:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. and focuses on hands-on training in areas such as STEM, electrical work, carpentry, plumbing and culinary arts.
During the program, participants will engage in structured activities that will help build real-world job skills while gaining exposure to potential career paths.
Enrollment is open now through May 15. Applications must be submitted online, and only one application per child will be accepted.
