Flint Beat is seeking a passionate and dedicated Sports Stringer to cover local sports in Flint, Michigan. As a Sports Stringer, you will play a key role in bringing Flint’s sports stories to life, providing in-depth coverage of high school, local leagues and community sports events.

Responsibilities:

• Attend and cover local sports events in Flint, including high school and community games.
• Write clear, engaging, and accurate game recaps, features, and sports news stories.
• Take high-quality photos and videos to accompany written content.
• Edit and produce multimedia content for use on Flint Beat’s website and social media platforms.
• Post and engage with content on various social media platforms to enhance audience reach and engagement.

Qualifications:

• A strong passion for sports and a keen interest in local community events.
• Proven experience in journalism, with a focus on sports reporting.
• Ability to take high-quality photos and produce engaging videos is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) and experience in using editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
