MCC art exhibit features photography of notable political analyst
FLINT, Mich. — Mott Community College’s (MCC) Fine Arts Gallery is showcasing the work of a longtime political analyst and professor emeritus at MCC, in a new photography exhibit open through April 25.

Paul Rozycki is widely recognized for his work in politics and education, he is also an accomplished photographer with decades of experience behind the lens.
“I’ve been working with photography since I was about 12 and have seen it evolve from black-and-white darkrooms to the digital age,” Rozycki said. “At times I’ve made a living with photography—as a photojournalist for a daily newspaper in Illinois—but mostly, it’s been a deeply satisfying form of self-expression.”
Rozycki was a regular exhibitor at the Flint Art Fair and has shown work in numerous area galleries over the years. His latest collection offers a glimpse into his vision of light and form.

“For me, the use of light has always been the heart and soul of photography,” he said. “I try to use light to highlight the shape and form of our world, and to reflect the human condition.”
Rozycki joined Mott’s faculty in 1969 after teaching at Ball State University and working as a journalist. He retired in 2011 but remains active on campus.

An Art Talk with Rozycki is scheduled for 11 a.m. April 16 in the Fine Arts Gallery, located in the Visual Arts and Design Center on MCC’s Flint campus.
Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Art and Design office at 810-762-0443.
