Flint, MI — Shortly after recall language was denied to launch efforts to remove Flint City Councilman Dennis Pfieffer, more was filed.

Flint resident Lisa Pasbjerg filed recall language for the third time on Nov. 7, 2024 in hopes of removing Pfieffer from his seat serving the 8th ward.

Pasbjerg had also filed language earlier this year that was approved by the commission but said, health issues prevented her from getting the necessary 883 signatures required to start the recall process.

The second petition was denied on Nov. 7, the day she submitted her third petition.

The most recent petition states, “On 3/25/24, Mr. Pfeiffer was censured for conduct unbecoming a city councilmember, resolution number 240112.”

“The new petition is much more streamlined,” said Pasbjerg, clarifying that the Genesee County Election Commission advised her to add the dates and a resolution number to her language.

“He’s really been rather obstructionist,” Pasbjerg said. “He’s not gotten a lot done for the 8th ward…We want to see the city council getting things done and not sitting around squabbling over silly things.”

Pfeiffer said Pasbjerg has never contacted him about her complaints and he considers the recall attempts personal.

“This is the third recall filed by this resident and it seems they have a personal vendetta that they need to resolve,” said Pfeiffer. “At no point has this person ever contacted me about an issue with the community or city services that need attention.”

A meeting has not been set to review the third recall language submission.
