Flint Township, MI — The family of Rayvon Shahid, a 17-year-old Flint teen who was shot and killed by the Michigan State Police, say they want answers.

The family, along with friends and community members, gathered at the Michigan State Police Post in Flint Township, Mich., to share their experience with the Nov. 2, 2024 shooting that left Shahid dead.

According to police reports, two troopers from the Flint post encountered Rayvon around 6:34 p.m. MSP alleges that Shahid was armed and fled. Troopers pursued Shahid on foot and ultimately deployed a taser which was said to be ineffective. Reports said Shahid was shot at least seven times and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
