6th annual Porchfest to be held in Flint’s Carriage Town

FLINT, Mich. — The Carriage Town Historic Neighborhood Association will host the sixth annual Porchfest on Friday, July 18, from 5 to 10 p.m., bringing live music, food trucks and family-friendly activities to the historic neighborhood.

Inspired by the original Porchfest in Ithaca, New York, the free event transforms porches throughout several blocks into intimate performance spaces for local musicians. Guests are invited to stroll the neighborhood, enjoy the performances and connect with neighbors in an open-air setting.

“Porchfest is a love letter to Flint,” said Event Chair Travis Gilbert. “It’s about coming together, no ticket price, no gates, just people celebrating where they live and who they are through music.”

This year’s Porchfest will be centered around West First Avenue and Mason Street. Parking will be available at the Dort Durant Carriage Company lot and in surrounding public areas. Admission is free and open to all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and a relaxed spirit.

The 2025 lineup features performances by Jeff Skigh, Jon Connor, Madison Olivia, BRB, Taylor Tatum, Cainaen, Bleau Otis, Eric McIntyre and others. In addition to music, the event will include artisan vendors and children’s activities.

Jeff Skigh, a Flint-based performer and organizer, said the event’s front porch format adds something special. “There’s something powerful about music on a porch. It’s raw, it’s local and it’s ours,” he said.
