Local nonprofit to host block party in Flint

FLINT, Mich. — A local nonprofit is hosting a community block party aimed at promoting fatherhood, family engagement and community connections.

InvolvedDad’s third annual FatherQue will bring together fathers, children, families and community organizations for a day focused on connection, support and celebration on June 6, 2026.

According to InvolvedDad, the family-friendly event aligns with its mission to empower men to become actively engaged fathers and father figures while strengthening families and creating positive outcomes for children.

“Strong families create strong communities,” said Shon Hart, executive director of InvolvedDad. “This event is about more than just a celebration. It’s about creating safe, welcoming spaces where fathers, children and families can build memories, access support and feel connected to a larger community that cares.”

The block party, hosted in partnership with Motherly Intercession, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint and Genesee County and Voices for Children Advocacy Center, will include live entertainment, games and activities for children, food, music, giveaways and information about community resources.

Organizers say they hope the event will provide a gathering space for families while helping connect residents with local services and support programs.

The event takes place from 1-3 p.m. at METRO Business Center, 1172 Robert T. Longway Blvd. in Flint.
