Flint, MI — The numbers are in for both Flint and Genesse County residents who cast their vote in the Feb. 27 presidential primary elections.

According to unofficial election results, 7,298 Flint residents cast their vote in the primary elections out of 74,713 registered voters. In Genesee County, 65,194 ballots were cast out of 351,209 registered voters.

The primary was closed, meaning voters had to choose a Democratic or Republican ballot to make their selection.

On the Democratic ballot, President Joe Biden received 26,908 votes, while the uncommitted selection came in second, receiving 3,013 votes. Marianne Williamson received 879 votes, and Dean Phillips received 773 votes.

On the Republican ballot, former President Donald Trump received 24,511 votes. Nikki Haley came in second with 7,134 votes. The uncommitted selection came in third, receiving 852 votes.

Of the remaining Republican candidates, Ron DeSantis received 398 votes, Chris Christie received 155 votes, Vivek Ramaswamy received 113 votes, Ryan Binkley received 78 votes, and Asa Hutchinson received 27 votes.

In comparison to the 2020 presidential primary, 88,552 Genesee County residents cast their vote. Of those, 37,575 voted for Biden and 20,717 voted for Trump.

In Michigan, according to the The Associated Press, Biden received 618,426 votes in this year’s primary elections while Trump received 756,851 votes. For both parties, 134,504 Michiganders cast their vote as uncommitted.
