Flint, MI — Congressman Dan Kildee recently announced new federal funding to improve health care services for mid-Michigan children.
The $468,000 grant, awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will support the University of Michigan-Flint’s work to improve telehealth services for pediatric patients. During the pandemic and in the years since, telehealth services have helped children in rural communities and without easy access to doctors get the care they need.
“Every child, regardless of where they live, deserves access to high-quality doctors and health care,” Kildee said. “I’m proud to have secured this federal funding to support University of Michigan-Flint’s work to improve telehealth services for our children and ensure every mid-Michigan family has access to high-quality care.”
Kildee has long-supported initiatives to improve care for mid-Michigan children. In May, he secured nearly $500,000 to support University of Michigan-Flint research in reducing childhood violence and improving the health and well-being of local children.
