Flint, MI— The Flint City Clerk’s office have released the names of the Flint residents chosen as applicants for the vacant 1st Ward Flint City Council seat.

The names, revealed on March 19, 2024, include Linda Anthony, Leon El-Alamin, Freddie Eugene McCoy, Rosemary Morrow and D. Eric Walker. 

On Thursday, March 21, 2024, there will be a Special City Council meeting held at 5:30 p.m. to interview the candidates.

Per Flint City Charter, the council must appoint a qualified candidate to the position within 30 days of the vacancy. The council will be considering and appointing one of these individuals before midnight on March 25, 2024. This person will serve in the position until a special election is scheduled and held and a candidate is certified as elected.

The vacancy comes after the death of longtime Flint City Councilman Eric Mays on Feb. 24, 2024.

These has to be some of the dumbest city council people in the world, you got one brother on there who can’t even speak and flip flop everytime the wind blows, one lady who claims she is a doctor but just as ignorant as the male set next to her,one lady who supposed to be a school teacher don’t even show up half the time, one doses off regularly . I used to blame the guy who just passed away but now I see the real problem.
