FLINT, Mich. — Detroit street artist Jerry Shirts will discuss his exhibition Artistic Avenue during an Art Talk at Mott Community College’s Fine Arts Gallery.

Shirts, also known as Artistic Aerosol, creates vibrant works using spray paint and hand-cut stencils. After losing his job in 2006, he turned his creative outlet into a career by 2007, showcasing his art in shows and galleries.

“Following Jerry’s work for many years, I’m constantly surprised and inspired by the artwork he puts out, his never-ending hustle and DIY mindset,” said Josh Justice, Gallery Coordinator for the Fine Arts Gallery.

The Art Talk will take place in the Fine Arts Gallery, located in Room 128 of the Visual Arts and Design Center on MCC’s main campus. After the discussion, Shirts will host a pop-up shop featuring exclusive merchandise.

This event is scheduled for 2 p.m. on March 27, 2025, one day before the exhibition closes.

MCC’s Fine Arts Gallery is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more details, contact the Art and Design office at 810-762-0443.
