Flint, MI — Additional funds have been added to a new class settlement with Veolia North America (VNA) over the Flint Water crisis, according to the City of Flint’s official water settlement website.

VNA is the last private engineering firm held responsible for its role in Flint’s water crisis

Per the announcement, additional funds will be added to the settlement fund for “eligible VNA Class Members.”

For those who did not previously register to be included in any prior settlements, the registration date to file a claim has been extended to Sept. 16, 2024. Claim forms must be submitted by mail and postmarked by this date.

Class members who have already registered do not need to do anything extra to be included in the new settlement.

To be an eligible VNA Class Member, you must have done any of the following between the dates of Feb. 10, 2015 and July 31, 2016:

  • Owned or leased a residential property that received water from the Flint Water Treatment Plan or were legally liable for payment of the water;
  • Owned or operated a business that received this water and can claim business economic loss as a result of the water;
  • Ingested or came in contact with the water and can claim a resulting personal injury;
  • Were 18 years old as of Jan. 31, 2024.

In addition, you must not be represented by counsel who is not class counsel to participate in this settlement.

You can find a copy of the notice, claim form, and instructions for the newest VNA Settlement here.
