FLINT, Mich. — Emily Doerr, Director of the Business and Community Services Department for the City of Flint, has resigned. Her last day with the city was Friday, Jan. 31, 2025.
Doerr joined the City of Flint in Spring 2023 as Director of the Planning and Development Department following the retirement of Suzanne Wilcox.
Under Doerr’s leadership, the department was reorganized and renamed the Department of Business and Community Services.
One of the department’s key initiatives since she stepped into the role has been the 10-year update of the Imagine Flint Comprehensive Plan, which has engaged 500 residents, according to the city.”
“Leading the Comprehensive Plan Update Process will be a top priority of my successor over the next year,” Doerr said.
In a statement, the city thanked Doerr for her dedicated service and contributions to the city’s planning and development goals.
The search for her replacement will begin in the coming weeks.
