FLINT, Mich. โ With Christmas fast approaching, several Flint-area organizations and bussinesses are stepping up to provide holiday meals, toys and other resources for families in need.
Below is a roundup of local events offering support this season.
Wednesday, Dec. 17
World of Wonder will host their Holiday Community Share event from 5 to 7 p.m at 404 W. Ellen St., in Fenton. To register click here.
- New toys will be given away (one per child)
- The Kiwanis of Fenton is providing free food baskets
- Free gift wrapping
- Free shop community share for toys and clothing
- Childrenโs actvities and crafts
Friday, Dec. 19
810 Munchies will host a free Christmas dinner at 5 p.m. Their goal is to serve over 200 plates, while supplies last. No questions asked. Just ask for a โChristmas plateโ and take plates home for folks who need them. The restaurant is located inside Dort Mall.
The Old Newsboys of Flintโs Christmas Program is designed to be a safety net to provide gifts to children (from birth to age 18 if still in high school) who might otherwise go without. In person sign-up is open from Nov. 3, 2025 โ December. 19, 2025. The parent or guardian of the child must bring the following documents:
- Driverโs License or Michigan State ID that proves residency in Genesee County.ย
- Birth Certificates or Judgments of Legal Custody for each child enrolled.
Saturday, Dec. 20
Genesee Road Church of Godย will host a toy giveaway for families in need. According to the churchโs Facebook page, most toys are dollar-store items for children ages 1โ12. Doors open atย 11 a.m., with the giveaway running fromย noon to 3 p.m.ย atย 4344 N. Genesee Road in Flint. Parents are encouraged not to bring children.
The Hasselbring Senior Centerย will host its Christmas Family Resource Event fromย noon to 4 p.m.ย The event will include giveaways of toys, coats, boots, and more, along with a performance by the youth choir. Items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at 2111 Flushing Road in Flint.
Martus Luna Food Pantry will hold its drive-thru turkey giveaway beginning at 10 a.m. at 3901 Fenton Road in Flint.
Tuesday, Dec. 23
Spectacular Spudz will host its 3rd Annual Reach Back Pull Forward Holiday Gift Back from 3 to 7 p.m. The event will collect new coats, hats, gloves, scarves, earmuffs, head warmers, and ear warmers for children of all ages. Donations will be accepted at 131 W. 2nd St. in Flint to help keep local youth warm this season.
The Beecher Athletic Department is set to hold its 2nd Annual Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament and Toy Drive. The toy giveaway will be held at Moses Lacy Fieldhouse, 1020 W. Coldwater Road in Flint.
Thursday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day)
Catholic Charities of Shiawassee & Genesee Counties will give towels, socks and winter gear to adults, while all children in attendance will receive new toys. A Christmas dinner buffet will also be served for everyone from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North End Soup Kitchen, 735 E. Stewart Ave. in Flint.
