FLINT, Mich. — The ongoing federal government shutdown has disrupted access to food assistance for families who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Flint residents in need of support can visit the following food pantries throughout November.

  • ST. LUKE N.E.W. LIFE CENTER FOOD PANTRY
    • St. Lukes serves residents from neighborhoods located in the Northwest Flint area on Fridays at 10 a.m. until the food is gone.
      • To be eligible, participants must meet the USDA poverty guidelines.

  • Crossover Outreach
    • Open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    • Food and Personal Hygiene items are provided once every 30 days. 
    • ​Clients must have a valid referral and proof of children living in their homes.

  • Salvation Army Beecher Corps Food Pantry
    • Open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 2316 W. Coldwater Road.
      • Participants must apply prior to distribution day to receive supplemental food assistance.

  • New Creation Church of God Food Pantry
  • Gloria Coles Flint Public Library
    •  Hosts a food pantry for all patrons on Saturdays that includes shelf-stable food items and other household goods.

    • Open on Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m.
    • Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m.
    • Thursdays from 10:00a.m. to noon and 5 to 7 p.m.
