Flint offers cash rewards for tips on illegal tire dumping
FLINT, Mich. — The City of Flint is stepping up efforts to crack down on illegal tire dumping by offering cash rewards for information that leads to arrests and convictions.
Officials say anyone who provides tips resulting in the arrest of those responsible for dumping tires or other trash within city limits will be eligible for a financial reward.
“We are sending a loud and unmistakable message: Flint is not your dumping ground. If you dump here, we will find you, and we will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law,” said Flint Police Chief Terence Green. “This is a serious violation of the City Charter, and we will come after you, your property, your business, and your employees.”
Anyone with information about illegal dumping is encouraged to contact the Flint Police Department at 810-237-6957. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL (5245).
