FLINT, Mich. — The second annual M2Dsports Flintustry Boss Stars Basketball Showcase returns to New Standard Academy on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
Presented by Much 2 Discuss Media, in association with Talent Over Politics, the event is organized by Christopher Dale Wilson Jr., also known as Cris Da Boss; a motivational speaker, musician and host of the “Much 2 Discuss” podcast.
Wilson said the showcase was created to give Flint its own version of an all-star weekend experience, highlighting local talent while creating a safe, family-friendly environment centered on sports and community connection.
“This is about bringing everybody together for some fun and positive energy,” Wilson said. “We have so much talent and so many people doing great things here, and I wanted to create something that celebrates that.”
Doors open at 1 p.m., with games beginning at 2 p.m. The showcase will feature a full lineup of basketball games and live entertainment throughout the day.
Youth boys and girls games will be divided into three age groups — 9–11, 12–14, and 15–18 — an expansion from last year’s event to accommodate growing participation and allow players more time on the court.
The event will also include a Flintustry Celebrity Game, featuring local entrepreneurs, creatives and community leaders, followed by the main event matchup showcasing more experienced players and former athletes.
Additional activities include a skills challenge, 3-point contest, raffle prizes and contest giveaways.
The event is hosted by Alpha Drew, with music provided by DJ Chef Nate who will provide a festival-style atmosphere beyond the games.
New Standard Academy students will also take part in the program with performances from the school’s drumline, majorettes and youth Hip-Hop dance groups, alongside returning musical performers from last year’s showcase.
Wilson said feedback from the inaugural showcase in 2025 played a major role in shaping this year’s event.
Many attendees told him they appreciated seeing families, friends and multiple generations gathered together in one space enjoying a good game of basketball.
“I want people to leave saying they had fun and can’t wait for the next one,” he said. “That’s the goal every time.”
Advance ticket prices are $5 for children and $15 for adults, increasing to $10 for children and $20 for adults at the door. VIP access is available for $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
Player registration remains open at $40 for adults and $25 for youth, which includes a player jersey. Wilson said the registration deadline helps organizers finalize team rosters and jersey orders ahead of game day.
