FLINT, Mich. — The Flint Police Department is conducting an internal review after a video was released showing an officer macing a group of people in downtown Flint early Sunday morning.

According to an Aug. 5, 2025, press release from the department, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Aug. 3.

The video has begun to circulate on social media, prompting public concern and questions about the officers’ use of force.

“We hold our sworn officers to the highest standards and are committed to transparency and accountability,” Flint Police Chief Terence Green said in the statement. “Our department will thoroughly review this incident to ensure justice, fairness, and public trust.”

Police officials say they are reviewing the actions of the officers involved.
