Flint SOUP dinner returns to support local entrepreneurs

FLINT, Mich. — Community members will have a chance to support local entrepreneurs at an upcoming Flint SOUP micro-grant dinner later this month.
Hosted by Flint SOUP, in partnership with Doxa Development, the event is scheduled for Monday, April 27 at First Presbyterian Church of Flint. Doors open at 5:15 p.m., with the program beginning at 6 p.m.
For a $5 cash entry fee, attendees will receive a meal of soup, salad and bread while listening to pitches from five early-stage businesses based in Genesee County. At the end of the evening, guests will vote on their favorite idea, with all funds collected going directly to the winning business as a micro-grant.
The event aims to bring people together while helping seed fund local startups and small businesses focused on improving quality of life in the community.
Flint SOUP is part of a broader network of micro-grant dinners supporting entrepreneurs across Genesee, Midland and Saginaw counties. The program prioritizes businesses in the idea or early stages, and generally does not accept nonprofit applicants due to funding restrictions.
Those interested in attending the Flint SOUP dinner can RSVP in advance online, although walk-ins are also welcome.
