FLINT, Mich. — In recognition of National Gun Violence Awareness Day, the North Flint Neighborhood Action Council (NFNAC) and The Safe Place Initiative are inviting community members to come together for “Paint a Stone in Honor of Those Lost to Gun Violence.”

The event takes place on Friday, June 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the corner of Pulaski Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard.

People of all ages are welcome to paint stones in memory of loved ones and neighbors lost to gun violence. The stones will serve as a visual tribute to those who are gone but not forgotten.

All supplies will be provided, and volunteers will be on hand to assist participants. Organizers encourage everyone, regardless of personal experience with gun violence, to attend and stand in solidarity with those affected.

“Each painted stone becomes a small but powerful tribute to a life lost too soon, a way for us to say their names, honor their stories, and stand together against the tragedy caused by gun violence,” said Geri Clark, NFNAC Board President. “By coming together, we transform our grief into action, create a space for reflection, and remind one another that every voice matters in building a safer, more compassionate Flint.”

The event is open to the public. For more information, contact Geri Clark at 810-836-4155 or info@northflintnac.org
