FLINT, Mich. — MW Gallery will host “Telling Our Stories,” a panel discussion on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, featuring artists and creatives exploring the role of storytelling in their work and its cultural impact.

The free program begins at 6 p.m. at MW Gallery, 815 S. Saginaw St., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Panelists include writer Bob Campbell, visual artist Mario Moore, multidisciplinary artist and musician Tunde Olaniran, and storyteller and counselor Shani Womack. Lisa Ze Winters, associate professor of African American Studies and English at Wayne State University, will moderate.

Organizers say the event will highlight how artists across disciplines use narrative to engage audiences and reflect lived experiences. It is being held in conjunction with the gallery’s current exhibition, “Figuratively Speaking”, which features works from the Mott-Warsh Collection and runs through Aug. 23. The exhibit focuses on how artists use the human form to explore identity, emotion, and social issues.

MW Gallery is open Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on the second Friday of each month until 9 p.m. for Flint ARTWALK. More information is available at www.m-wc.org or by calling 810-835-4900.
