Volunteers invited to Edible Flint farm orientation ahead of growing season

FLINT, Mich. — Residents interested in growing fresh food and supporting local food access are invited to attend Edible Flint’s upcoming Farm Volunteer Orientation Day.
The orientation will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at the Edible Flint Educational Farm. Participants will receive a guided tour of the farm, learn about the organization’s work and take part in hands-on early-season farming activities.
The event is designed to introduce new volunteers to the farm’s operations while offering a firsthand look at how food is grown and distributed throughout the city.
Following the orientation, volunteers can continue their involvement through Edible Flint’s regular Farm Volunteer Days, held Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., April through October.
The Edible Flint Educational Farm is located at 1628 Beach St. Those interested in participating can register online at edibleflint.org/volunteer.
