(UPDATE: The water main break has been repaired and residents can continue water use as normal. No boil water advisory was needed as the system never lost pressure.)

Flint, MICH. — Crews are working to repair a water main break caused by construction work at North Dort Highway between Pierson and Webster Roads.

Flint officials say water service may be unavailable until 3 p.m. on July 23, 2025.

According to a City of Flint press release, a private contractor struck a 24-inch water main on July 22 while working at 5145 N. Dort Highway. Flint water service crews responded but the damage prevented workers from being able to fix the problem without shutting down water supplies to nearby customers.
