FLINT, Mich. — Residents are invited to celebrate leadership, service and personal well-being at the 2026 International Women’s Day Luncheon, hosted by YWCA Greater Flint, on Friday, March 6, 2026.
This year’s theme, “Balancing the Scales: Give to Gain,” highlights the importance of finding balance in everyday life while recognizing the rewards that come from giving back to others.
The luncheon will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at ELGA Credit Union Headquarters, located at 6065 Grand Pointe Blvd. in Grand Blanc. Networking and lunch begin at 11 a.m., followed by the program at 11:45 a.m.
The event will feature a panel of women leaders across the community who will share personal stories about navigating life’s demands, balancing responsibilities and serving others in meaningful ways.
Dawn Jones, ABC 12 Anchor of ‘First at Four,’ will serve as panel moderator.
Featured speakers include:
- Erin Coney Walker, Pharm. D., community health advocate, content creator and children’s author and neuroscience specialist at Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc.
- Linnell Jones-McKenney, executive director of The Salvation Army Life Center and the first female drafted to play professional basketball from Flint.
- Mama Sol, motivational speaker, holistic health advocate, certified herbalist and nationally recognized Hip-Hop and spoken word artist.
- Sue Peters, president of the Ruth Mott Foundation and longtime philanthropic leader supporting community development in Flint.
The luncheon aims to inspire attendees through conversations about leadership, service and personal growth while celebrating women making an impact locally.
The event is presented by YWCA Greater Flint in partnership with The Links, Incorporated – Flint Area (MI) Chapter.
