Congressman Dan Kildee secures $5 million in funding for Flint Registry

Flint, MI — Congressman Dan Kildee has secured $5 million for the Flint Registry, which President Joe Biden will sign into law as part of a bipartisan budget to fund the government for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024.

In 2016, Congress created and funded the Flint Registry to help respond to the city’s water crisis. The Flint Registry is a community-based effort to identify individuals exposed to lead during the crisis and improve their health and development through connections to health care and other resources. Since its establishment in 2016, Kildee has secured over $39 million for the Flint Registry for its continued operations.

“Justice comes in many forms, including making sure Flint families have good health care, education, and proper nutrition as they recover from this crisis,” Kildee said. “In Congress, I’ve worked with Republicans and Democrats to establish the Flint Registry and will continue to fight to invest in this important resource for our community.”

Kildee has repeatedly led the Michigan congressional delegation in calling for total funding for the Flint Registry, including in the FY 2024 budget just signed into law by Biden. Kildee is also leading efforts to fund the Flint Registry for FY 2025.
