Flint, MI — Congressman Dan Kildee recently announced new federal funding to help ensure mid-Michigan families have access to high-quality, affordable health care.

The $5,970,434 in federal grants, awarded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will allow Hamilton Community Health Network and Great Lakes Bay Health Centers to continue delivering comprehensive healthcare services to mid-Michigan families.

Hamilton Community Health Network will receive $2,389,629, while Great Lakes Bay Health Centers will receive $3,580,805.

“Every Michigander deserves access to high-quality, affordable health care. I’m proud to announce these federal grants to help our local health centers continue to deliver exceptional care to mid-Michigan families,” said Kildee. “In Congress, I will continue fighting to bring federal resources home to lower health care costs for working families.”

Hamilton Community Health Network has a network of over 40 providers specializing in primary care/family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, optometry, oral health, podiatry, behavioral health, and psychiatry.

“This funding will positively impact Hamilton’s ability to provide accessible health care services to the residents we serve regardless of their ability to pay. Ensuring all residents have access to affordable health care services is critical to the health and well-being of our community,” said Clarence R. Pierce, CEO of Hamilton Community Health Network. “We are thankful for Congressman Kildee’s support of Community Health Centers, especially those in medically underserved areas.”

Kildee has consistently advocated for community health centers. Earlier this year, Kildee secured nearly $5 million in federal funding for Great Lakes Bay Health Centers and Hamilton Community Health Network.

Additionally, he secured over $400,000 in funding to improve healthcare services for mid-Michigan children.
