Flint & Genesee Group employees host luncheon recognizing Women’s Equality Day
Flint, MI — The Flint & Genesee Group’s Women in Action (WIA) employee resource group will host a luncheon celebrating National Women’s Equality Day, officially recognized Aug. 26. The luncheon will take place on Aug. 28 and will feature a presentation, “Ensuring Equal Opportunity and Equity for Women,” by Tarnesa Martin, a patient resource and community advocate at Hurley Medical Center.
In addition, the event will also include panel discussion with prominent local women leaders, including Kim Dinger, owner of Kim Rose Fashions; Claudnyse Holloman, president and CEO of Voices for Children Advocacy Center; Grace Peabody, president of Peabody Insurance; and Teresa Springer, director of operations for Wellness Services of Flint.
More than 200 people are expected to attend the luncheon, which has been organized and led by Flint & Genesee Group employees who belong to the WIA employee resource group. This internal group fosters a climate of diversity and inclusion and provides opportunities for professional and life enrichment. And in the case of this upcoming luncheon, it empowers them to engage with the community in ways that are meaningful to them.
