Flint NAACP to hold city council candidate forum

[paypal_donation_button]FLINT, MI — Flint’s NAACP will hold a Flint City Council candidate forum on Tuesday, June 27 and Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Flint Public Library.

The forum, “A Candidate’s Forum,”  is being hosted by the Flint Branch of the NAACP Political Action Committee from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on both days in the main reading room of the library located at 1026 E. Kearsley Street in Flint.

Seventh, 8th and 9th ward candidates will participate in the Tuesday forum and candidates for Flint’s 2nd, 3rd and 6th wards are expected to participate in Thursday’s forum.

All nine seats are up for Flint City Council this year. Each candidate is vying for a four-year term on the council.

There are only two candidates vying for seats in the 1st, 4th, 5th wards. Those candidates will not appear on the August 8 primary ballot but they will be on the November 7 ballot along with the winners of the August primary.

The event is open to the public. For more information on the forum call the Flint branch of the NAACP at (810) 742-8622.
